  • [PLR013] Broke One - Something To Believe In EP 12"
    Record/Vinyl + Digital Album

LIMITED VINYL - ARTWORK by POLUX ONE

Belgium imprint Play Label Records return with yet more stellar electronic productions. The ‘Something To Believe In’ EP comes from Italian producer Broke One, who offers up two originals alongside remixes from Play Label regular Latence and Strip Steve.

Up first is ‘New Light’, a groove inducing production with mellow synth melodies dancing over a classic Broke One Chicago infused drum pattern. Jazzy chords arrive late to the party, adding that extra bit of colour to complete a stunning track. Latence’s rework of the original follows as a more stripped back offering, with an almost warehouse feel, certainly one for the early hours of the morning.

The B side ‘Chord Memories’ follows similar suit to the first original as a infectious groove locks in tight around a simplistic bass line. Broke One’s melodic work once again shines through here, progressing and developing as the track moves on. A high pitched synth lick repeating in the second half is the final piece of the puzzle bringing all the elements together in a colourful creation made for the dance floor.

Closing the show is a mind-blowing remix of Chord Memories from Strip Steve, whose jazz rework of liquid drums and soaring synth lines make for a inspiring listen.
